Elaine Whitney is all about people. She wears a lot of different hats at OneGenAway, but on top of everything else, she makes it her responsibility to ensure everyone she interacts with feels loved, valued, and supported.
Chris is the kind of person who strives to do the right thing no matter what others think or how insurmountable the task may seem.
“We think of food not only as nourishment, but a way to show love and a way for people to feel dignity,” said Ben, one of the founders of Patchwork Nashville.
“When I have an opportunity, I tell people, ‘Don’t give up on people. Plant seeds,’” said one of our First Responders.
“Y’all are doing God’s work, and I am grateful for you,” said Beverly, who volunteers with and receives food from OneGenAway.

Becky knows most everyone in Waverly. As she volunteered at our mobile food pantry, she was cutting up all day with the volunteers and those receiving food.
Before the flood in Waverly, Carmen had two freezers and two refrigerators full of food. Now, she comes to our mobile food pantry in clothes she received from a disaster relief center.
